Dad poem

Dad
When I held you hand and said goodbye
You knew it was just for a while
It was a touch for the time, for just a short time
And forever I’ll see your sweet smile
You went home by the light of a full moon so bright
And a falling star showed you the way
It’s really not far from earth to the stars
And I feel and hear you each day
The breeze is your whisper, a snowflake your kiss
The sun is the warmth of your love
The stars are the twinkle you have in your eyes, a light from your life up above
A raindrop so gentle just like your soul
The birds softly singing your song
My dad, my friend you live all around
If you think you’re a memory your wrong
I look and I see your still here with me and for all those left behind, everyone knows
The most special of places to the man we know
Is in the splendour of a beautiful white rose
I love you dad.
